A BritishArmy issue FieldMessage Book, rexine bound, issue date 7/18, con-
taining extensive manuscript notes apparently of military exercises, tactics,
rearguard actions, how to stop the enemy, obstacles, machine guns, commu-
nications etc., also operation orders dated 16.8.21, Scarriff [after the Truce],
etc. etc., with some names listed near end. Apparently notes made by as unit
commanderor trainingofficermostlyduring theTruce inCo.Clare. Thehand-
writing is stronglymarked, andpossibly couldbe identified. Stainedandworn,
contents coming loosebut intact.

A receipted invoice for a quantity of goods bought from a Thurles grocer by
members of the InchCo. I.R.A., Sept. 1921, including candles, tobacco, lemon-
ade, stout, bread, ‘drinks’, etc., to the amount of £10.15.3d (quite a substantial
sum at the time), paid in cash.
