MADE BYWORBOYS OF DUBLINAND DESIGNED BY PAULVINCZE (1907-

1944), bearing a profile head of Padraig H. Pearse 1879-1916, and each contained

within fitted presentation case and with original “Worboys Company Limited,The

Grafton Arcade Dublin” cardboard box, (c.155.5g all in). Each 5cm diameter. (2)

145 TWO SILVER TEN SHILLING COMMEMORATIVE PEARSE COINS, 1966,

decorated with portrait of Pearse and with the death of Cú Chulainn, inscribed on

the coin edge “Éirí Amach na Cásca 1916”, encased in red velvet box. 3cm diameter

146 A BRONZE WWI MEMORIAL DEATH PLAQUE,

for Samuel McCann, decorated with Brittania holding a LaurelWreath in her left

hand and aTrident in her right with an imperial lion at her feet, inscribed along the

edge of the plaque with “ He/She Died For FreedomAnd Honour”. 12cm diameter

(c.330g)

A photocopy from the Index No. M.R. Helles Memorial PartVII details McCann’s

rank as 7th Battalion Royal Munster Fusiliers, died August 9th, 1915, aged 31, son

of John andTeresa McCann of CastleWarren, Donemara, Co.Tyrone.These bronze

plaques were issued to the next of kin of soldiers who had fallen in the GreatWar.
