139 1916 WITNESS STATEMENTS

A collection of four personal statements concerning the events of 1916, probably

copies of witness statements to the Bureau of Military History, typescript (carbon

copies), from Patrick Bailey of Basin Steet, active under Con Colbert, 9 pp; Emily

Norgrove (Mrs. John Hanratty) of Clonliffe Rd., a Citizen Army member, 7 pp;

Fergus O’Kelly of Clontarf, E.S.B. engineer, then a student, a member of Joseph

Plunkett’s technical staff, 6 pp; and John (Sean) Dowling of Baggot St., one of the

occupiers of Roe’s Distillery, 4 pp. Much interesting detail of the events of the

Rising.
