Dublin no date later c.1745, mark of Robert Calderwood, shaped
gadroon and shell pie crust rim, plain central reserve, on three
scroll feet (scratch weight “9=0”, c.8.5ozs). 16.5cm diameter

AN IRISH WILLIAM IV SILVER BUTTER TUB, COVER
AND STAND,
Dublin 1831, mark of Robert W. Smith (fl.1784-1853), marked to
the body, lid and stand, the two-handled tub with reeded rims,
and central embossed foliate band, the domed lid with fan-shaped
ribbed rim, with flower-head finial, on a circular stand with
conforming decoration, engraved with armorials for Trench, Lord
Ashtown, Co. Galway (c.31ozs in all). The bowl 17cm wide over
handles; the stand 19cm diameter
