199 A WWI CONNAUGHT RANGERS SWAGGER STICK,

with regimental carved top and shield engraved with initials ‘MHC’ on a bamboo

cane. 89cm long

Tag on the cane identifies it as belonging to Captain Montagu Hill Clephane De Cris-

toforo De BouilloWickham of the Connaught Rangers, died 9th May, 1915.

A large white metal plated medal, diam. circa 2 ½ ins, obverse titled‘Fachamt Box-

en Im D.L.R.’ with a pair of boxers in relief, over the German eagle and swastika,

the deesign signed HME, reverse engraved‘Landerkampf / Irland-Deutschland /

10.12.37. Hamburg / Dem Sieger / Fliegengewicht’, engraved on edge‘Stem-

pel-Muller Bremen’. With a recently printed list of contestants.

by Johnathan Richards & Co, Dublin, with enamelled badge, the conjoined letters

‘’FF’’ at centre, a warrior’s sword belt around bearing the legend‘’Oglaig na hEire-

ann’’ (Soldiers of Ireland).
