Healy, Dame Street, Dublin, on Irish Parlimentary Offices headed notepaper, with
associatedenvelope, andeachwithblackborders.Requesting “patternsof IrishTweed
for a suit” and ordering a dress suit, the letter displays an unusual side of Parnell, in
that heattended in suchdetail tohispersonal appearanceat this time, andhadprefer-
ence for theDublin rather than theLondon tailors. Theblack trimmednotepaper and
envelopewas in respect and sympathy forLordFrederickCavendish,whosewifewasa
niece of PrimeMinisterGladstone, andThomasHenryBurkewhoweremurdered in
thePhoenixParkbyThe Invincibles, theprevious year. (2)
