A PAIR OF GEORGE II ROCOCO SILVER TABLE
CANDLESTICKS,
London 1756, mark of John Cafe, the shaped drip-
pans (apparently unmarked), with conforming
gadrooned rims interposed by trailing foliage and
scallop shells, enclosing panels, above acanthus leaf
and scroll wrapped urn-shaped sconces, lobed and
knopped bodies decorated with inverted flutes with
trailing foliage and scrolls, raised on shaped domed
bases, embossed and chased with asymmetrical
scrollwork, foliage and vacant cartouche (c.55ozs
incl. sconces, they cannot be removed). 29cm high
