A VICTORIAN IRISH SILVER FLAGON
of generous proportions, Dublin 1845, mark of Samuel Le Bas, gilded interior, with finial in the
form of Hibernia, on a domed hinged lid, the tapering cylindrical body with embossed and chased
decoration of shamrocks, flower heads, thistles and scrolls enclosing vacant cartouche to one side, the
opposing side decorated with bold flowers and berries, amongst scrolls, with applied chased acanthus
leaf wrapped ‘S’ scroll handle with trailing bellflowers, the spout with applied grotesque mask, raised
on a lobed foot (circa 44oz). 32cm high, 28cm wide over handles and spout
