whitemetal (lower rankswouldhaveworn abronze example), eight pointed
staroverlapping sunburst surround, thepiercedcenterwith ‘FF’ insigniaand
bearing inscription “DrongÁtaCliat” (DublinBrigade), approx. 4cmdiam-
eter. The design for this badge was the forerunner of the modern defense
badges to follow.A fine exampleof this scarceofficer’s badge.
