326 A 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY RECTANGULAR BREAKFRONT BOOKCASE IN THE CHINESE CHIPPENDALE TASTE,

the moulded cornice with blind fret frieze above three astragal glazed panel doors on a table base with pierced fretwork

on pierced square angled legs. 170cm wide, 220cm high, 50cm deep

Provenance: This bookcase was inherited from the Estate of Irish revolutionary, barrister, politician and judge Fionán Lynch (1889

-1966). Lynch was a friend of Michael Collins and fought alongside him and the Irish Volunteers in the 1916 Rising. Lynch was one

of five secretaries to the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty.
