23 A VICTORIAN SILVER SHAPED CIRCULAR

SALVER,

London 1896, mark of Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co.,

112 Regent St., London (William Gibson & John Law-

rence Langman), with gadroon, scallop and acanthus

rim, interposed by anthemia, the plain central reserve

with crest and motto “SOLA VIRTUS NOBILITAS”

(virtue is the only nobility), raised on three scroll feet

(c.32.5ozs). 32cm diameter, 3.5cm high

24 A PAIR OF IRISH SILVER BEAKERS,

Dublin (no date letter), makers mark possibly that of

William Homer (fl. 1754-73), each with everted rims

above conical form bodies with crested and chased

flower heads and entwined scrolling leaves (c.11ozs).

Each 9.4cm high, 8.5cm diameter
