Qing Dynasty,
19th Century, the pale green ground woven with large roundels
filled with flower blooms and rock formations, surrounded by
scattered insects, bats and floral sprays, within cream borders
embroidered with ladies playing Guqin in a garden setting.

A CHINESE SILK ‘HORSE FACE’ SKIRT,
late Qing Dynasty, the flared garment with various multi-coloured
pleats and broad Kesi borders woven to one side with ladies and
attendants on a lotus boat, the other depicting musicians in a
terraced garden, separated by black floral divisions.

GROUND DRAGON ROBE,
late Qing/Republican Period, the entire woven with nine five-
clawed dragons amongst clouds, bats and auspicious symbols,
picked out in bright coloured threads, the sleeves ending with
‘horse shoe’ cuffs.
