Engraved by Hodgetts after his own painting and published 1st
December, 1843, London, by S. Hollyer. The plate appears to have
been chrome plated to prevent wear during printing and has then
been given a special protective coating which would be removed
for printing.
An impression taken from this plate is in the National Gallery of
Ireland, NGI no. 10,968 (Illustrated Summary Catalogue of Prints
and Sculpture 1988, p227)

Haverty. This plate appears to have been been chrome plated to
prevent wear during printing and has then been given a special
protective coating which would be removed for printing.
An impression taken from this plate is in the National Gallery
of Ireland, NGI no. 10,000 (Illustrated Summary Catalogue of
Prints and Sculpture 1988, p.213). The National Gallery of Ireland
impression has apparently been cut in at the sides into the engraver’s
margins.
