A SEMI-ANTIQUE BAHKTIARI RUG,
Chahar Mahal district, Zagros, S.W. Persia (Iran), Ca
1920-1930 A powerful rug with clear, bright and natural
colours, with an unusual field design of large poppies
and birds arranged in a trellis diagonal pattern. Much
research has lately been undertaken by Peter Willborg
of Stockholm, Sweden, who illustrates a related piece on
pl 140 in his work Chahar Mahal va Bahktiari. 171 x 136
