probably Derby, a set of eight, the factory gilded rims, each with the letter ‘C’ below a baron’s
coronet, painted with land and seascapes, some signed and monogrammed to the base ‘
MC
’.

Note: ‘MC’ is probably Mary Patience Collingwood, the Admiral’s daughter, who married in
1817 Anthony Denny of Kerry. These plates have been passed down in the female line and are
fine examples of amateur porcelain painting in the late Georgian period.
