and January 1960. Pilkington, who was friendly with Waddington arranged for Campbell
to be included in the group exhibition ‘Painting of the 20th Century’

South Africa, April, 1960. Dillon held his first solo show in London in 1967 at the Mercury
Gallery. His Connemara images, ‘Fair Day, Clifden’, and ‘Next Stop, America’, had more
appeal in America, where, in 1954, he had held a solo show at the Maxwell Galleries, San
Francisco.

Campbell also held a joint show with George Arthur Tuckwell (1919-2000) at the Piccadilly Gallery.
