28 A MID-GEORGIAN IRISH SILVER DISH

RING,

Dublin c.1745/1750, mark of Robert Calderwood,

with reeded rims and with asymmetrical flat chasing

of shell and foliate decoration (c.13.5ozs). 21cm

diameter

This is an early example of a dish ring, compare the

example in Ticher - Irish Silver in the Rococo Period

(1972), illustration no 69.

29 A GEORGE III SILVER CASTOR,

London c.1788/1795, mark possibly of John Wren, of

plain circular baluster form and raised on stepped

pedestal foot. 14cm high (c.4½ozs); together with

another caster, London 1783 (c.3ozs). 14.5cm high
