A SCOTTISH WILLIAM IV SILVER CLARET JUG,
Edinburgh 1833, mark of J. Hay, of lobed baluster form, the
hinged lid with cast flower heads finial and flared chased foliate
rim above a body with repousse and chased floral panels, on
a lobed circular spreading foot and scroll handle, inscribed
“Presented to John Macharg Esq. late President? of The Glasgow
Galloway Brotherly Society, by a few friends, Glasgow, 20th July
1842” (c.30ozs). 31cm high
