A FINE IRISH VICTORIAN silver CLARET JUG/ TROPHY cup,

Dublin 1888, mark of West & Sons, in the form of an Armada jug with long neck and trigger

hinged lid with c-scroll handle, presented by The Dublin Rifle Club, Leinster Cup to Edward

Nixon Wynne, Wentworth House, Co. Wicklow, for the 800 and 1000 yard ranges, the stip-

pled round decorated with baskets of flowers, geometric banding with cartouches flanked

by winged cherubs in relief, griffin heads and woodland masks, raised on a panelled circular

spreading foot (c.36ozs)

Note: Edward Nixon Wynne was from the Wynne family, the original founders of The Avoca
