A FINE VICTORIAN SILVER MOUNTED

GLASS CLARET JUG,

Sheffield 1861, mark of William & George Sissons, the raised and

pierced thumb piece applied to the hinged lid with outset spout and

finely decorated with bands of fleur de lys, cornucopia and grotesque

masks enclosing twin opposing oval cartouches, one side crested, the

applied beaded handle with mask, the glass bulbous body with wheel

engraved sun god Helios driving his four horse carriage through the

clouds star cut base, raised on a stepped circular foot. 29cm high
