In accordance with traditional iconography, this Buddha features a cranial pro- tuberance (ushnisha), symbolizing transcendent wisdom, and a mark between the eyebrows (urna), representing spiritual radi- ance. His distinctive hairstyle reflects the snail-shell curls that grew after he cut off his hair with a sword.
