146 125 SAMURAI SWORD Possibly a KotoWakizashi, signed KANESADA魚定 Japan, probably Selki School of Mino Province 1. Blade description: - Tsukurikomi (shape): hira zukuri (two sides), hiromune (two-side back of the blade), ubu nakago (the lame with its original length, i.e. not shortened) - Nagasa (length of the blade): 32.5cm - Haba (thickness of the blade): 0.4cm - Sori (curve of the blade): 0.5cm - Ji hada (steel grain): itame-hade type (resembling a wooden board) - Hamon (temper line): gunome midare type, nie-deki - Boshi (return of the temper line to the blade tip): kayeri fukaku - Meï (signature): Kanesada魚定 - Period: possibly Muromachi (16th century) 2. Note: Many generations of Kanesada signing with two ideograms have been in activity starting from the 14th century onwards in the Province of Mino and as part of the so-called Seki School. 3.
