floral spine and guard, the curved blade engraved
with inscriptions to both sides.

SHAPED VASES,
each painted with panels of willows, prunus and
flower blooms, against a royal blue ground, deco-
rated all-over with gilt highlights. 18cm high;
together with a pair of Japanese Meji period Sat-
suma earthenware vases, the ovoid bodies painted
with alternating panels of chrysanthemum blooms
and pagodas, on a river landscape all against a royal
blue and gilt work ground, black seal mark to the
