AN IMPORTANT PAIR OF IRISH MAHOGANY
SINGLE CHAIRS, C.1750,
the waved shaped crest rails extending to scrolled terminals, above
galleried pierced splats, carved with foliage to the top, bellflower
pendants to the splats, and decorated with recessed fluting against
a pounced and trellis reserve, with drop-in seats and on acathus
capped cabriole legs, with claw and ball feet and hairy hocks, joined
by shaped flat pegged stretchers centred by shells (with later blocks)

with a piecrust rim, on a well carved fluted tripod support with acanthus
