Dimensions (the sole brush washer): 9,5 x 6,9 cm Weight: 144 grams Note: Because the Buddha is often depicted as seated on a lotus, the lotus is considered a sacred Buddhist symbol (one of Eight Auspicious Symbols) representing purity and detachment from worldly cares. 水晶莲纹笔洗 中国，晚清，19世纪 € 600 - 800 63 A ROCK CRYSTAL CARVING OF A STANDING LADY WITH A FOO DOG CHINA, POSSIBLY LATE QING DYNASTY The lady is depicted standing and wearing loose robes. She holds a ball and is accompanied by a Food dog standing four squares on a rocky base. The stone is almost flawless. H: 15 cm Weight: 534,5 grams Note: The dog (gou - 狗 ) is one of the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac 水晶雕刻-站立的美人与福狗 中国，晚清，19世纪 € 400 - 600 64 A ROCK CRYSTAL CARVING OF A SQUATTING RAM CHINA, POSSIBLY QING DYNASTY The stone is almost flawless. H: 15 cm Weight: 1271 grams Notes: 1. The sheep (yang) has the same pronunciation and therefore symbolizes the male principle yang in Yin Yang ( 阴阳) and also the ‘sun’ (yang - 阳 ). 2. Compare with a related rockcrystal figure of a ram sold at SOTHEBY’S Hong Kong, China, 2020-11-27, lot 723, estimate HKD 80,000-120,000. € 500 - 700 64A A LAPIS LAZULI ‘MELON’ PLAQUE PENDANT CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY Naturalistically carved and open-worked with melons, branches and leaves. Further embellished with two diamonds and set as a pendant with a yellow gold ring.
