The stone is of milky white tones with brown accents and its inclusions describe geometrical shapes similar to circles. The inner part is well hollowed. Offered at auction together with a stopper. H (stopper excluded): 5,3 cm Weight: 38,1 grams Provenance: Property from a French collector: a collection of jade and stone carv- ings and snuff bottles assembled over two decades. Together with a silver stopper enhanced with turquoise and coral cabochons. Chinese mandarin marks engraved to the inner part of the stopper. H (without the stopper): 7,6 cm Weight: 126,4 grams 大型玛瑙鼻烟壶 中国，清朝，19世纪 € 1,000 - 2,000 57 A SILVER-MOUNTED AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE MODIFIED AS A FRICTION LIGHT- ER THE SNUFF BOTTLE: CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY THE MOUNT: MAISON MAQUET, PARIS & NICE, CIRCA 1900 The agate snuff bottle with a flatted egg-shaped body and with brown inclusions is carved in lower relief with a fan and a woven pattern. It has been silver-mounted on a spread foot chiseled with flowers. The rim is also lined with silver and it is combined with a silver stopper embellished with stones. The rim bears the mark ‘Maquet’. H: 9,1 cm Gross weight: 87,6 grams 由镶银玛瑙鼻烟壶改装的摩擦打火机 鼻烟壶部分：中国，晚清，19世纪 其他部分: 巴黎及尼斯，约1900年 € 800 - 1,500 58 AN IRON RED AND COBALT BLUE ‘WARRIOR’ PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE APOCRYPHAL MARK OF EMPEROR YONGZHENG CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY It rests on a short ring foot and has a tubular neck with a waisted collar and a slightly everted rim. It is painted in underglaze cobalt blue and iron red with warriors, including an archer and a beast with a human body and a bird face as well as wings, in a rocky landscape. The iron red has been used to pick out some parts, including the leaves. The base is inscribed in cobalt blue with an apocryphal six-character mùar of Emperor Yonghzheng in kaishu. H: 8 cm € 600 - 800
