Fine Asian Art | 28-29 & 30 June 2022 119 Additional information and photographs for all lots can be found at www.adams.ie 217 PROPERTIES FROM A NOTED COLLECTOR OF CHINESE EXPORT SILVER *AN ENAMEL AND FILIGREE EMBEL- LISHED GILT SILVER ‘DRAGON’ BOX AND COVER WITH ANGLED CORNERS CHINA, QING DYNASTY This box has a lid with is maintained by hinges. It may also be called a small casket. It is of octagonal shape with angled corners and rests on four short feet. Part of its mounts (notably the aprons) are chiselled with flowers. It is adorned on its four sides with a covering filigree décor further enhanced with pavilions and pine trees picked out with blue and green enamels. The top of the lid has a central medallion adorned with a filigree flying dragon amidst clouds whilst its outer part is adorned with lotus flowers picked out in blue and green enamels. The front part has a lock that would have allowed to close and to open the box. However, the key is missing. H: 6,5 cm - L: 11 cm - width: 8,3 cm Gross weight: 339 grams Provenance: a noted collector of Chinese Ex- port Silver wares. * 珐琅花丝装饰镀金带盖 “ 龙纹 ” 盒 中国 € 1,500 - 3,000 218 PROPERTIES FROM A NOTED COLLECTOR OF CHINESE EXPORT SILVER *AN ENAMEL AND FILIGREE EMBEL- LISHED CHINESE EXPORT GILT SILVER BRISE FAN CHINA, QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY Decorated either side with blooming flowers picked out in yellow / orange, blue and green enamels, the mounts also embellished with polychrome enamels. A very fine example of a combination of filigree and enamel techniques at their height. L: 18,5 cm Gross weight: 113,5 grams Provenance: a noted collector of Chinese Export Silver wares.
