The body is painted in underglaze cobalt blue enamels with a continuous rivershore landscape with a couple of passing deer and stag as well as a flying crane amidst clouds. The neck is also painted with a continuous rivershore landscape with one single passing stag as well as a flying crane. The base bears a double circle in underglaze cobalt blue. H: 38 cm Note: The Chinese believe the deer lives to a very great age and, as a result, has become a symbol for long life. The deer is tradi- tionally believed to be the only animal able to find the magical lingzhi fungus of immortality. € 5,000 - 7,000
