probably French, the hinged lid embossed and chased

with floral decoration, repeated to the body; together with

another German silver box, marks of Georg Roth & Comp.,

of oval form, the hinged lid decorated with scene of a child

tending to a putti in a landscape, the body embossed and

chased with floral decoration; and a German silver tea caddy

in the Neo-classical taste, the hinge lid with finial, decorated

with embossed and chased swags on a fluted ground, and

repeated to the body. (3)

the hinged lid painted with a Napoleonic Scene on a gilt

ground with brass mounted border in the form of trailing

bellflowers, the body painted in gilt with four Napoleon ‘N’s,

the interior featuring the symbolic ‘N’ once more and gilt

painted bees; together with a tortoiseshell table snuff box; an

oval Dutch silvered snuff box; and agate snuff box (4)
