A PROVINCIAL HELMET SHAPED

BRIGHT CUT SILVER CREAM JUG,

makers mark of John Nicholson (Nicolson) of

Cork (fl. 1756 - 1824), with gilt interior, reeded

rim, handle and foot, the rim decorated with a

continuous band of linked ferns, the body deco-

rated with ribbon tied swags, raised on a circular

pedestal foot on square base (c.6.5ozs). 17cm

high, 12cm wide

punched rim and rows of wavy flutes, on shell

capped scroll supports ending with pad feet,
