A PROVINCIAL IRISH SILVER HELMET SHAPED
SWING HANDLED SUGAR BASKET,
makers mark of Joseph Gibson of Cork (fl.1784-1820), struck
“STERLING” to the foot, with reeded handle and raised reeded
rim, continuous bright cut banded sides, opposing cartouches, one
side crested, raised on a spreading oval pedestal foot with bright cut
banding (c.8.5ozs). 15.5cm high, 17cm wide, 11.5cm deep
