Willie Cunningham was born in 1946 and grew up in Crossgar, County Down. Beyond the
arts, Willie has also pursued a career in religious ministry and has led services at the Elkana
Christian Fellowship Church in Carryduff, outside Belfast, for over 20 years.
Combining a more traditional sombre palette in his landscapes with bright pinks, greens and
primary colours, Willie is highly influenced by his love of horticulture and gardening. Find-
ing inspiration in his homeland, Willie’s favoured subjects include sun drenched cornfields,
traditional musicians and picturesque harbours.
