Fascinated by the Space Age, Cardin designed jewellery that was futuristic, utilizing bold, angular shapes and an architectural orna- mentation. Cardin’s focus on minimalism and the use of carved hard stones has been much admired and several pieces of Cardin Jewellery are held in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection in NewYork. 102
