Serving with the Royal Marine Commandos during the war, Frost was captured and be-
came a prisoner of war. He was imprisoned with fellow artist Adrian Heath and upon his
release he moved to St Ives where he worked with Barbara Hepworth. His first one-man
exhibition in London was held at the Leicester Galleries in 1952.
