It is impossible to say where this scene represents, but it is no doubt in Connemara. The fairly heavy impasto seen in the

sky is characteristic of Henrys work, as is the highlighting in the water in the foreground. The division of the picture plane

into two halves is another Henry characteristic.

Dated 1930-5 on stylistic grounds.
