“This painting was aided by initially walking the Aintree course, followed by studying the BBC recording of the race, in particular the order of
horses and jockeys at the Canal Turn, first time round. It has always been my challenge with brush and palette to portray the most difficult of
subjects, this is the first time this painting has been displayed”. -
