Col. Charles Vallancey Pratt was an officer in the 69th Regiment and
recorded Irish topography,especially buildings of antiquarian interest
throughout his life. After the army he settled in Stoneville, Delgany and
although most of his views are around Dublin he did sketch through-
out the country. He had been trained in drawing while attending
Military College c1805. He is known to have sketched with the artist
Samuel Lover.
