Born in 1930, Hill worked and studied in Tasmania and lived briefly in Sydney. In 1953 he went to Paris and studied at the Academie Ranson under Singier, Chastel and Goetz. Later he moved to England and, for two years, worked as an assistant to Henry Moore. His paintings were widely exhibited in En- gland and America.
