FINE ASIAN ART | 135 400 A RARE CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL AND GILT- BRONZE ‘DOUBLE PEACH’ TRAY 清中铜胎掐丝珐琅双桃盘 China, mid-Qing dynasty Formed as two conjoined peaches with mirrored symmetry, issuing leafy branches from the sides. Each compartment is decorated on the interi- or with shaped panels enclosing two bats flying above fruiting branches, all reserved on a turquoise ground, encircled by a border of peaches and blos- soms borne on undulating stems. This decoration is mirrored on the exterior, while the underside of the base is adorned with a cracked-ice pattern. L.19.7cm € 3,000 - 5,000 Note A similar tray was sold for HKD 192,000 (approxi- mately EUR 35,500) at Christie’s Hong Kong, 30 May 2006, lot 1560. 401 A CLOISONNE ENAMEL DING-SHAPED ‘DRAGON AND LOTUS’ INCENSE BURNER 铜胎掐丝珐应龙莲纹鼎式香炉 China Cast with a compressed globular body rising to a short neck with a galleried rim, surmounted by a pair of looped handles. Both the rim and the handles are incised with lo- tus and scrolling cloud motifs. The vessel is supported on three legs issuing from gilt-bronze Buddhist lion masks. The exterior is enamelled with flying lions and clusters of lotus flowers borne on undulating leafy scrolls.
