This specific type of support was worn only by the Samurai, who were responsible for relaying messages between opposing Daimyo on the bat- tlefield. As well as carrying their clan’s banner, the 4 holes in the wings held long, narrow banners, some- times with large feathers, to clearly identify the warrior messengers who were not attacked out of respect for the diplomacy of war. € 200 - 300
