The model shown on the mannequin is also equipped with a natural iron breastplate bordered by a copper Fukurin with the Mon of the Osokawa clan (heraldic emblem) in Uchidachi (embossed). The equipment includes natural iron Kote (half-sleeves), chainmail Suneate (shin guard), Waraji (woven rice straw sandals) and Tabi (cloth slippers). It is accompanied by an identical child’s Kamishimo on mannequin with Jingasa (light lacquered hat) and Tanto Koshirae (sword). Samurai were often asked by the Daimyo to leave a family member behind as a token of loyalty. The Jingasa, the Wakizachi frames and the 2 Kamichimo are decorated with the Osokawa clan Mon.
