109 91 PAUL JACOULET “A Korean Girl, 1935” From the extremely rare preliminary Han second series with signature printed above the Double Gourd seal. Japanese calligraphy on left margin reads “Published: Showa 10 (1935) - A Korean Girl - Publisher: Junji Kato”. Numbered 114/200 in Japanese on reverse. Excellent condition. Seeking to assert his personal style, Jacoulet produced this second preliminary series all in small format with subtle colors. As with the Rainbow series, the “double gourd” seals were not widely distrib- uted andmust be considered as great rarities. On the reverse is a handwritten dedication dated and signed “ToMademoi- selle Françoise Mainçon to celebrate her birth - souvenir of the artist - Paul Jacoulet mars 1938 à Tokio”.
