Meath This charming portrait depicts William Tighe, b.1710/11 in a dress, as was the early Georgian fashion for boys aged up to twelve years old. He became an MP and married Lady Mary Bligh in 1736. He led a charmed life, building the delightful house, Rosanna, in Co. Wicklow in 1740, holding undemanding jobs such as keeper of The Phoenix Park, maintaining a house in Dawson Street and winning £10,000 in the Lottery. His granddaughter Caroline Tighe married Charles Hamilton of Hamwood which is the likely explanation for the paintings presence in the Hamwood collection. € 10,000 - 14,000
