164 Country House Collections 522 WILLIAM OSBORNE RHA (1823 - 1901) ‘Paddy’, a hunter in a stable Oil on canvas, 49 x 64cms € 800 - 1,200 523 A LARGE 19TH CENTURY SILVER RACING TROPHY CUP, London 1894, mark of Elkington & Co Ltd., relating to ‘Paddy’ the hunter (lot 522, above), with twin handles, the base partially fluted and raised on a circular foot, with stand. 50cms wide over han - dles, 36cms high; together with Guy St. John Williams and Francis P.M Hyland ‘The Irish Derby 1866 - 1979’. J. D Wardell was the only person to have won the Irish Derby three times. Initially raced under the name John Dennison as he was a Quaker and racing was banned.
