Antrim. His focus was on agriculture and he wrote a number of letters, articles and pamphlets fervently praising Irish firoin grass as the cure for national poverty. He maintained the belief that the most opportune time for mowing was from November to January. This engraving shows and older sturdier farmer following Richardson’s dogma, standing in deep coarse grass with scythe in hand.
