At Home 5 th July 2020 60 115 A GROUP OF EARLY 20TH CENTURY TIE PINS AND BROOCHES, composed of four tie pins including one representing a horseshoe set with calibré-cut rubies, length 7cm; one depicting a bird’s claw holding a green heart-shaped piece of glass, length 8cm, one representing a question mark set with a black gemstone and a brilliant-cut diamond, length 6.5cm; one set with a round-shaped sapphire, mounted in 14K gold, length 6.5cm; one represent- ing a trefoil set with old-cut diamonds, mounted in 18K gold, length 5cm; together with a brooch set with rose-cut diamonds and square-cut rubies, mounted in 18K gold, Swiss assay mark, length 4cm € 500 - 700 116 A 19TH CENTURY SEED PEARL AND BLUE ENAMEL PENDANT LOCKET, the gold pendant locket embellished with a lozenge set with seed pearls and blue enamel of stylised cross detail, containing the portraits of Gerald and Alice FitzGerald, mounted in 14K gold, length 4cm € 300 - 500 The FitzGerald dynasty was one of Ireland’s greatest medieval dynasties and played a major role in Irish history. According to the present vendor, this pendant locket belonged to Gerald and Alice FitzGerald towards the end of the 19th century. They had a son, Maurice Henry FitzGerald, who married the sister of the current owner’s grandmother.
