At Home 5 th July 2020 207 A BANK OF IRELAND SILVER SIX SHILLINGS COIN, 1804, with a portrait bust to one side, engraved by Conrad Heinrich Kuchler, initials C.H.K on truncation, surrounded by inscription ‘GEORGIUS III DEI GRATIA REX’, Hibernia on reverse with palm branch and ten string harp, (c.26.28g). 4cm diameter € 350 - 450 208 A RARE AND EARLY GAA MEDAL, C.1885, the obverse finely decorated with Irish motifs of harp, round tower, Celtic cross and crossed hurley and hammer, the reverse decorated with a centred shamrock, engraved with the names ‘Parnell’, ‘Davitt’ and ‘Dr. Croke’ on each leaf and surrounding border engraved with details of event and winner, ‘won by T Ryan - Putting...37 feet 3/8 inches’ These medals were issued in the first and second years after the GAA was founded and there- fore are exceptionally rare and fine examples. € 600 - 800
