45 125 AN AMETHYST AND SILVER BEAD NECKLACE BY DUIBHNE GOUGH, composed of a series of compressed circular-shaped amethyst beads, interspersed by seven brushed silver beads of a similar shape, arranged at intervals, the silver clasp stamped with maker’s mark, length 47cm, with maker’s box € 150 - 250 Duibhne Gough embraced the career of professional jeweller in 2003 but had been making and design- ing pieces long before that. As the daughter of renowned artist and craftsman, Breon O’Casey, Gough learned her trade directly from her father in his studio. Like him, Gough hand makes her pieces so that each one is unique, using traditional methods to create elegant and timeless pieces. The simplicity of her designs allows for the materials and techniques to stand as artworks in their own right and, as such, Gough’s work is represented by several galleries in the UK. 126 “ANGEL PREENING” A rectangular silver brooch by Carolyn Mullholland RHA, cast by Steensons Jewellery, Belfast, hallmarks for London 1997, from a limited edition of 3, length 4.5 x 6cm € 200 - 300 Northern Irish artist, Carolyn Mulholland RHA is well-known for the numerous major sculptural commissions which she has completed for institutions across Ireland and Northern Ireland. Her works feature regularly in Adam’s Important Irish Art Auctions and in November 2014, a later bronze panel by the same name, “Angel Preening”, dated 2005, appeared in the catalogue of “The Ib Jorgensen Collection” auction at Adam’s.
