123 345 HENRY HORACE CANTY (1846-1909) A Travelling Man Oil on canvas, 117 x 75cm Signed and dated 1874 Horace Henry Canty was born in Southwark, London the son of an artist. He was a member of the Royal British Academy, serving as secretary under James McNeill Whistler’s presidency. He specialised in genre, landscape and historical subjects and his 1885 work ‘Tennis Players’ (Private Collection) is perhaps his best known painting. € 600 - 1,000
