A BOTTLE OF THE “JUBILEE” WHISKEY,
John Jameson & Sons, bottled by Woodford Bourne & Co.
Ltd of Cork
Until 1960’s Jameson’s main route to the market was
through the bonder’s. Jameson’s would have sold the
licensed spirit bonders casks of whiskey along with labels
and capsules. The Bonders then separated the whiskey into
their own bottles, and applied the Jameson’s labels and
capsules. This Jubilee bottle is a fine example of a bonder’s
bottle, bottled by the wine merchant firm Woodford
Bourne of Cork. However in this case Woodford Bourne
have designed their own label, which is not unusual, but is
a nice feature.
